Allegany County’s COVID-19 Community Level has been listed as “low” by the Centers for Disease Control. There have been 134 new cases this week, and no additional deaths. Approximately 56.8 per cent of the population has been vaccinated, and the local positivity rate is 7.49 per cent, as compared to the state rate of 7.05 per cent. There were 14.61 cases per 100,000 people; Maryland’s rate is 10.54 per cent. Free testing is still being offered at the Allegany County Fairgrounds three times per week, with COVID vaccination clinics held by appointment at the Allegany County Health Department on Wednesdays.
