MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT, RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT CHARGES

Thirty-seven-year-old Cumberland resident James Christopher Harris faces numerous charges, following a stop on Interstate 68 this morning. He is accused of assaulting both an Allegany County Sheriff’s deputy and Cumberland City Police officer, along with the female driver of the car, in which he was a passenger. The stop was made after the car was traveling erratically. The female victim reported that Harris had allegedly broken off the rear view mirror of the car, and struck her in the face with it. He also is accused of assaulting officers on the scene. He was charged, and is currently awaiting his initial court appearance.
