STATE SENATE EXPECTED TO REMAIN UNDER G.O.P. CONTROL

The Pennsylvania state senate will remain under GOP control.  State election officials say Republicans now hold a 28-22 majority after five new Republicans were elected in last week’s voting.  Democrats will add one new member to their senate delegation — Nick Miller will represent District 14, which includes parts of Northampton and Lehigh Counties.  Eleven other Democratic Senators were re-elected to return to the upper chamber.
