POLICE INVESTIGATE ROAD RAGE INCIDENT INVOLVING GUN

An unnamed 27-year-old man from Montgomery County was arrested late Sunday morning, following an incident on Interstate 68 eastbound. Police are calling it a “road rage” incident, as the suspect pointed a pistol at another driver, before continuing east into Allegany County. He was stopped near the 45-mile marker. Allegany County Sheriff’s deputies found a 9-mm pistol, as well as a quantity of marijuana. He was charged with those counts, as well as a charge of first-degree assault. The Cumberland City Police, the McHenry barrack of the Maryland State Police, and the Sheriff’s Department all assisted during the pursuit and arrest.
