Let the gambling begin. Online sports betting officially launched yesterday in Maryland. Voters approved it two years ago and it’s finally happening. Seven sports books went live at 9 a.m. Eastern time. This means people no longer have to go to casinos to bet on a game. They can now do it from the comfort of their own home, by phone or computer. State officials say this could generate 30-million dollars in tax revenue for the first year and nearly 100-million by 2027.
