CHALLENGES WITH LINGERING PANDEMIC ISSUES, WAR IN UKRAINE TO KEEP ENERGY COSTS HIGH
Pennsylvania State regulators say energy costs will increase this winter not only because of production costs, but also because of other challenges. Officials with the state Public Utility Commission say that’s unfortunate because natural gas production has steadily increased in the state over the past four years. They say the remaining price increases are due to lingering issues from the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The PUC encourages people who might struggle to pay their bills to take advantage of assistance programs available through their utility suppliers.
