MAN SENTENCED IN DEATH OF SAIQUAN JENKINS

Seventeen-year-old Devon Burroughs was sentenced to a maximum 40-year sentence with ten years suspended in connection with the stabbing death of Saiquon Jenkins just over a year ago. Burroughs will serve half of his sentence, before being eligible for parole; he will then be on supervised probation for five years. Both Burroughs and Jenkins were students at Fort Hill High School, and the stabbing took place in the area of Warwick Avenue and Williams Street. In August, Burroughs entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder.
