STATE ASSEMBLY LEADERS ARGUE OVER SPECIAL ELECTION DATE

Pennsylvania’s current Republican House Speaker Bryan Cutler has ordered a February 7th date for a special election.  It would be to fill the seat of lawmaker Tony DeLuca, who died in October before the mid-terms. However, Joanna McClinton, the woman who’ll likely be the incoming Democratic speaker, says she has her own plans for a special election for the seat.  While the Democrats appear to have a razor-thin majority right now at 102-101, DeLuca’s death leaves the chamber tied at 101-101 between the parties.
