The Maryland Court of Special Appeals has scheduled a February 2 hearing to consider an appeal in the Adnan Syed case. Last week the family of murder victim Hae Min Lee requested a new hearing regarding the overturning of Syed’s conviction. The family appealed the decision saying their rights were violated but the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office dropped all charges against Syed and released him before the appeal could be heard. In a brief filed on Friday the family claimed they did not receive appropriate notice to participate in the process that led to Syed’s release.
