ONE INJURED IN ROMNEY APARTMENT COMPLEX FIRE

One person was seriously injured, and more than two dozen people were displaced during an early morning fire yesterday at the Romney Unity Apartments. The injured person was flown to a burn center after receiving initial care locally. Some of the other residents were rescued from the smoke-filled upper level and stairwells. A temporary shelter was established at the Romney Fire Station, where about 30 residents were transported by the Potomac Valley Transit Authority. The cause remains under investigation.
