MARYLAND LOTTERY TO SWITCH TO COMPUTER-GENERATED DRAWINGS

The Maryland Lottery is changing up the way it picks its daily numbers.  Starting today, drawings for the Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5, Bonus Match 5 and Multi-Match games will use a computer system called a random number generator, switching from numbered lottery balls and mechanical drawing machines.  Maryland will join more than 30 other states in moving to random number generators.  State lottery officials say the RNG systems are more efficient, cost-effective and secure.
