A Garrett County sheriff’s deputy is dead after an accident in an unmarked patrol vehicle. It happened Tuesday night on I-68 in Frostburg. Officials say Corey McElroy crashed his Ford Explorer into the back of a tractor-trailer, causing him to veer into the next lane and get hit head-on by a pickup truck. He was flown to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
