DOWNTOWN RENOVATION WORK TO BEGIN IN APRIL

Funding has been secured and the contractor is ordering supplies for an April 3rd start of the downtown renovation project. The Baltimore Street Access Project was first introduced six years ago, and initially had a price tag of $5 million; the price has now grown to $15 million. The project includes the replacement of underground utility lines and the installation of high-speed fiber optics cable, along with the reinstallation of Baltimore Street as a one-way access road, traveling east from Mechanic Street. It will also include 18 parallel parking spaces and a bicycle lane.
