A special prosecutor has been named to handle the case of three minors and an 18-year-old who are facing charges following an incident that occurred during a recent soccer practice at Ripley High School. The four are charged with conspiracy and battery. The third minor has also been charged with sexual abuse. Initial reports said there were four minors charged in the incident. The 18-year-old is identified as Jacob Banton. He’s out on bond and will appear in court in February. There are reports Banton is the son of Ripley High’s vice principal — Jeff Banton. Police are not releasing any other details about the case to protect the identity of the juvenile victim.
