MDH RECORDS EIGHT COLD-RELATED DEATHS SO FAR THIS WINTER

The cold weather is blamed for least eight deaths in Maryland so far this winter season.  The state health department released a report this week showing six of the eight cold-related deaths are people in the 65 and older age group and four of deaths occurred in Baltimore City.  The other deaths happened in Allegany, Dorchester, Prince George’s and Wicomico counties.  Half of the victims are presumed or suspected to be homeless.  There were 45 cold-related deaths in Maryland last winter season.
