A man who had been wanted by West Virginia authorities was arrested early New Year’s Eve morning in Barton. Austin Harrison had been charged with attempted second-degree murder, robbery, and other counts, and had been considered armed and dangerous. Barton resident Jennifer Miller had taken Harrison to a residence, and a secure perimeter was established around the house to take him into custody. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police and Cumberland City Police officers participated in the operation. Both Harrison and Ms. Miller were taken into custody, and were both held without bond.
