BUSINESS OWNER CONCERNED OVER CUMBERLAND GATEWAY PLANS

The owner of the 7-11 convenience store on Maryland Avenue has expressed concern over discussion of a competing convenience store being located at the Cumberland Gateway commercial center. Todd Umstot and his wife established the 7-11 in 2010, and spoke to the Cumberland Mayor and Council about the issue during last night’s meeting. There has been talk of a Royal Farms convenience store locating in the development. Mayor Ray Morriss said he would put Matt Miller, executive director of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation in touch with him, to discuss the issue.
