GOVERNOR CALLS FOR SPECIAL SESSION TO ADDRESS ACTION FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE SURVIVORS

Outgoing Governor Tom Wolf has called a special session of the state legislature to work on advancing action for child sex abuse survivors.  New House Speaker Mark Rossi has declared that no other legislation will be taken up until the House approves a constitutional amendment on the issue. The measure would grant victims the power to file claims regardless of statutes of limitations.  Republicans called the idea for a special session unnecessary and ended Monday evening without any further voting.  Sessions for the next two days are canceled as well.
