MARYLAND COVID METRICS DOWN

Some of Maryland’s key COVID metrics are falling.  The state health department reports the testing positivity rate is below 14-percent after it had climbed above 15-percent recently.  Coronavirus hospitalizations had risen to nearly 900, but they have now fallen to 830.  Meanwhile, the state added nearly 900 overall cases, and nine additional virus-related deaths.  It remains to be seen if hospitalizations will start rising again as a new, highly-infectious COVID variant continues to spread.
