State Attorney General Josh Shapiro is sworn in as Pennsylvania’s 48th governor. He took the oath of office today after placing his hand on a stack of Jewish Bibles outside the state Capitol. Dozens of lawmakers, ex-governors and members of Congress attended the inaugural ceremony, as well as thousands of onlookers. Shapiro succeeds Democratic Governor Tom Wolf, who is term-limited. He’s the first person elected to succeed a member of his own party in nearly 60 years.
