Cumberland resident Peter Allen Butler was charged with second-degree assault, following an incident in the 600-block of Yale Street on Saturday afternoon. Butler allegedly struck another person in the face; officers observed that injuries were consistent with the victim’s account. Butler received a District Court hearing and was later released on his own recognizance.
