The city of Cumberland Engineering Department, on behalf of First Energy, is notifying the public that South Mechanic Street will be closed to thru traffic, between Baltimore Street and Pershing Street between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. tomorrow. This will allow First Energy to replace the broken pole. The road will be closed until the repairs are made. Signs will in place to detour vehicles around the road closure. Traffic is expected to be restored by 3 p.m. tomorrow.
