MARYLAND SENATORS ANNOUNCE FEDERAL FUNDING FO R THE MARYLAND COASTAL BAYS FOUNDATION

U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen have announced more than one-point-eight-million-dollars in federal funding for the Maryland Coastal Bays Foundation.  The money will be used for coastal habitat restoration, public education and outreach and climate change resilience efforts for Newport Bay, Assawoman Bay, Isle of Wight Bay, Sinepuxent Bay and Chincoteague Bay. The senators say the funding will not only support critical wetland restoration and resilience efforts, but it will also help to educate the next generation of coastal caretakers.
