MAYOR TO STUDY HEN OWNERSHIP LICENSE

Mayor Ray Morriss has agreed to check into other Maryland jurisdictions to determine if a live chicken ownership license is feasible for the city of Cumberland. The Mayor and Council has received several requests from those who would like Cumberland to allow a limited number of hens to be kept within city limits. Residents have cited the educational values of hen ownership, but also the high cost of eggs has been expressed as a reason to own hens.
