WV NATIONAL GUARD AT OHIO TRAIN DERAILMENT

Members of the West Virginia National Guard are in eastern Ohio at the site of a chemical spill.  Seven members of the 35th Civil Support Team based out of St. Albans were deployed to the site of the Norfolk Southern derailment because of their experience with plume modeling.  As cleanup crews burn off some of the vinyl chloride, the guard members are vital to make sure conditions are right for the plume of smoke to dissipate before risking the health of those around the accident site.
