Delegates in the House will now get to decide the next steps of the proposed split of the Department of Health and Human Resources. The state’s largest agency has been on the chopping block for a while, and the plan would be to create the Department of Health, the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Health Facilities as three smaller agencies. Wednesday’s vote to proceed from the House Finance Committee moves the legislation to the full House.
