MARYLAND SENATOR PUSHES FOR GAS TRANSPARENCY

State Senator Cheryl Kagan wants more transparency when it comes to the prices Maryland gas stations are charging their customers.  Kagan is sponsoring the “Gas Price Gouging Act” that would require gas stations to post both the cash and credit prices more clearly for drivers. Credit and debit prices can be five to 20-cents higher than cash prices because of transaction fees and Kagan believes the bill will limit price gouging and bait-and-switch tactics. There are similar transparency laws in ten other states.
