PROSECUTOR TO SEEK MAXIMUM SENTENCE FOLLOWING MURDER CONVICTION

Following her conviction in the shooting death of her husband, Berkeley County Rida Hendershot may be facing up to 40 years in prison. Berkeley County Prosecutor Catie Wilkes Deligatti says second-degree murder carries a penalty of 10 to 40 years in prison, and she is seeking the maximum sentence. The trial lasted five days and the jury deliberated five hours. While Ms. Hendershot says the gun went off accidentally, Deligatti says the murder was intentional.
