The Allegany County COVID-19 level has risen to “medium,” according to the CDC. The percentage of county residents who have received a complete primary COVID vaccine is 57.5. Cases per 100,000 people are even with the state figure of 9.48. The local positivity rate is below that of the state at 5.67 per cent; Maryland’s rate is 8.54. To date, there have been 21,590 cumulative cases in the county, with 387 deaths. COVID testing is happening today at the Fairgrounds, along with Wednesday and Friday. Vaccination clinics are held each Wednesday at the Allegany County Health Department on Willowbrook Road.
