Governor Wes Moore has nominated his campaign chairman to head the Maryland Stadium Authority. If confirmed by the state Senate, Craig Thompson would replace Thomas Kelso who was removed in the early days of Moore’s administration. The change comes amid negotiations between the state and the Orioles over a long-term lease at Maryland-owned Camden Yards. Orioles CEO John Angelos said over the weekend he expects a lease will be finalized in the coming months, perhaps by the All-Star break.
