UPGRADES APPROVED FOR FROSTBURG WATER SYSTEM

Since Frostburg is now providing water for the Midland-Lonaconing areas, recent upgrades were approved at the Frostburg Mayor and Council meeting. A boil water advisory was ordered on January 17th, and the Maryland Environmental Service took control of the water system on an emergency basis, beginning January 25th. Before the addition, the Frostburg system was operating at approximately 850,000 gallons per day; it now operates at just over 1.1 million gallons, with a permitted capacity of just under 1.5 million per day.
