MARYLAND SENATE CONFIRMS GOVERNOR’S PICK FOR JUVENILE JUSTICE SECRETARY

Final approval is being given to Governor Wes Moore’s pick to lead Maryland’s juvenile justice system.  Vincent Schraldi’s nomination as juvenile services secretary was confirmed by the Maryland Senate on a party-line 33-13 vote.  Schraldi is a former commissioner of New York City’s Department of Correction.  Republican lawmakers have criticized his approach to juvenile justice as not being focused enough on accountability.
