Vincent Schraldi’s nomination as juvenile services secretary was confirmed by the Maryland Senate on a party-line 33-13 vote. Schraldi is a former commissioner of New York City’s Department of Correction. Republican lawmakers have criticized his approach to juvenile justice as not being focused enough on accountability.
