The Campus Self Defense Act is up for passage in the West Virginia House today after Republicans rejected two proposed amendments from Democrats yesterday. The bill establishes guidelines for campuses to let students carry guns. One of the amendments would have allowed campuses to designate residence halls where guns are not allowed in order to accommodate students who don’t want to live in dorms where guns are permitted. Another amendment would have knocked down a measure to allow those with provisional permits — 18 to 20 years of age — to carry concealed under provisions of the bill.
