FIRE HEAVILY DAMAGES DOWNTOWN BEDFORD BUILDINGS

A fire, beginning Monday evening and lasting through yesterday morning, heavily damaged a block of historic buildings in downtown Bedford. The original call was for 119 South Juliana Street, but the fire spread to 115 Juliana, and an alarm was triggered as far away as 109 South Juliana Street. There are four buildings on the block, which included an apartment building and an art gallery. One person was reportedly taken to the hospital.  At least nine fire departments were on the scene, including one from as far away as Somerset. The state police fire marshal is investigating the fire.
