The superintendent of Garrett County Schools, Barbara Baker has announced her retirement, effective July 1st. With the exception of one year teaching abroad, she has spent her entire 34-year career with GCPS. The Board of Education there will discuss their next steps at its regular monthly meeting on March 14th. There are several options to consider with regard to hiring her replacement.
