The University of Maryland is proving to be a great place for African Americans that are looking to earn doctoral degrees. That’s according to a new report by the National Science Foundation. UMD topped the nation in non-HBCUs for Blacks that pursued their doctorates between 2010 and 2020. School President Dr. Darryll Pines said it brings him joy to reach the goal but his administration will continue to promote diversity and excellence in education.
