There are a growing number of drug overdoses and deaths associated with a new drug in West Virginia. The animal tranquilizer Xylazine is being called the “Zombie drug.” The first deaths were reported back in 2019 with six that year. Over the next two years that number grew to 60 in 2020, and then 89 in 2021. The data for 2022 has yet to be released.
