UMD  RENAMES BUILDING AFTER PROMINENT FIGURE

The University of Maryland is recognizing the legacy of Thurgood Marshall.  Officials at the College Park campus gathered yesterday to rename the School of Public Policy as the Thurgood Marshall Hall.  Marshall’s son and Governor Wes Moore were in attendance.  Marshall wasn’t allowed to attend law school at UMD because of his skin color.  Marshall went onto become the first Black Supreme Court justice and an advocate for Civil Rights.
