COVID SNAP BENEFITS EXPIRE IN PENNSYLVANIA

Extended SNAP benefits have now expired.  The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program allotments were issued as a temporary fix to help low-income homes deal with the COVID pandemic.  But with the passing of Congress’ nearly two-billion-dollar omnibus package this year, all SNAP households’ benefits will return to normal amounts without the added supplement.  Federal officials say the benefit cuts that go into effect this month will amount to about 95-dollars for each family.
