Fewer people are filing jobless claims in Maryland. The Labor Department reports the number of Marylanders seeking first-time unemployment benefits dropped by more than 280 last week, to about 14-hundred. It’s the sixth straight week that jobless claims have fallen in Maryland. Nationally, new jobless filings fell by two-thousand, to 190-thousand.
