A groundbreaking ceremony for the downtown mall renovation project will take place on Friday, March 17th. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. at the McCoury Stage at the corner of Baltimore and Liberty Streets. The project, which is expected to cost $15 million, is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete. Construction will begin April 3rd; Triton Construction, Inc., or St. Albans, West Virginia will be doing the work which includes replacing underground utility lines, adding high-capacity fiber optics and reinstalling Baltimore Street through the mall.
