LAVALE FIRE CAUSES $10,000 IN DAMAGE

Saturday’s fire on Rye Street caused about $10,000 in damage. The fire, reported just before 4 p.m., broke out in the basement of the two-story structure, and was discovered by the homeowner, Robert Boyce. Five cats and four guinea pigs died in the fire. The cause remains under investigation, and the family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
