LAWMAKER PAY RAISED PASSED IN W.V. COMMITTEE

Members of the West Virginia House Finance Committee are on board with a Senate bill that would give lawmakers a raise.  SB-740 would increase the salary for a state lawmaker from 20-thousand-dollars a year, to the state’s per capita income as stated by the U.S. Census Bureau.  Right now, that is roughly 28-thousand-dollars a year.  The last time lawmakers were given a raise was in 2009.
