MD. HOUSE AND SENATE MOVE FORWARD WITH ABORTION RIGHTS BILL

The Maryland House and Senate are moving forward with a measure that would enshrine the right to an abortion in the state constitution.  If the legislation passes, voters would be asked to approve a referendum protecting access to an abortion on the 2024 ballot. House Bill 705 passed by a vote of 99 to 37 on Friday and it was given preliminary approval in the Senate. Full approval in the Senate is expected in the next week.
