LONG-TERM BUDGET SHORTFALL COULD STEM FROM INCREASED SENIOR SERVICES

The  Pew Charitable Trusts says many large cities in Pennsylvania will be on the hook for taxes for more aging social services in the coming years. Their new study shows that’s because the number of people over 65 is projected to grow to more than three million people by 2035. The number of the state’s vulnerable older households that have less than 75-thousand dollars in yearly income is expected to increase by 17 percent during that time.
