TRONE DELIVERS BRIDGE REPAIR CHECK

Sixth District Congressman David Trone was in Cumberland to present a federal funding check, in the amount of $4.8 million, to the city for replacement of the Fayette Street bridge, which was damaged during a train strike in 2018. CSX repaired the structure enough, to allow for one lane of traffic in 2020. The city of Cumberland signed a quitclaim deed for a dollar last year, and became the owner of the bridge. The money presented by Congressman Trone is included in the federal government’s 2023 budget.
