JURY RETURNS VERDICT IN TRIAL OF SUSPENDED D.A.

The jury has returned verdicts in the trial of suspended Somerset County District Attorney Jeff Thomas. After deliberating for about three hours, Thomas was found not guilty of the most serious charges he faced, including sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault. He was found guilty of six other charges, including strangulation in conjunction with sexual violence, criminal trespass, unlawful restraint, indecent assault without consent, false imprisonment, and one count of simple assault.
