GOVERNOR STRESSES TAX CREDITS FOR TEACHER, FRONT-LINE WORKER SHORTAGES

Governor Josh Shapiro says he believes the way to handle a statewide teacher shortage is to offer tax credits for new teachers.  At a news conference Tuesday near Pittsburgh, the governor said he’ll create a nearly 25-million-dollar tax credit that will be paid to teachers as well as new to new nurses and police officers. The tax credits were included in the governor’s proposed budget.
