FROSTBURG MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN FAIRMONT INCIDENT

Zeigshawn Jarelle Meade has been charged with the first-degree murder of Frostburg resident Clayton Vanlier Peck following a day-long investigation in Fairmont, West Virginia. Additional charges and arrests are pending. Officers stopped a vehicle near a Cleveland Avenue apartment complex, where a large quantity of marijuana, as well as other evidence was recovered. Officers found 22-year-old Peck over an embankment, dead from a gunshot wound. The Maryland men had traveled to Fairmont to sell marijuana to a person or persons they were meeting at the apartment complex. Also arrested in the incident was 18-year-old Leo Charles Ginty of Frostburg; he is charged with possession with intent to deliver drugs. Officers say the shooting was a “targeted attack.”
