MARYLAND A.G. OFFICE FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST VINEGAR COMPANY

The Maryland Attorney General’s Office has filed a lawsuit against Fleischmann’s Vinegar Company on behalf of the state’s Department of the Environment.  According to the Baltimore Sun the lawsuit alleges that discharge from the company is entering the Jones Falls. The group Blue Water became aware of violations while investigating a fish-kill in 2021 and it has filed a federal complaint for violations of the Clean Water Act. In a statement Fleishmann’s corporate parent says it’s been working with the MDE and the city to ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act.
